11TH STREET

Located in a cast iron building within New York's Astor Place, this loft was a typical New York factory space. GF/A transformed the mezzanine balcony into a glass wall with a balance of minimalism and livability in mind. Simple choices in millwork and finishes were used throughout, including bleached oak and black iron.

The project's aim was to reflect the neighborhood's origins in manufacturing while highlighting the client's Scandinavian sensibility, allowing the natural beauty of the space to rest against the simple materials and choices throughout.
